1. License
The software is licensed under the Apache License, Version 2.0 (see LICENSE and NOTICE). Those terms govern your use, copying, modification and distribution. These Terms add the notes below; if they conflict with the Apache License on rights in the software, the Apache License controls. Using the free package does not require buying or agreeing to anything else from us.
2. What the software is, and is not
SensCheck Governance — Core is an application-level governance SDK that helps your code decide whether an AI agent's proposed action may run. It is not an operating-system sandbox, a hardware security module, an authentication system, a safety-certified machinery controller, or a substitute for functional-safety systems. It cannot stop code that bypasses it. Receipts it produces are tamper-evident only and are not signed. See SECURITY.md and THREAT_MODEL.md.
3. Your responsibility
You are responsible for how you configure and deploy the software, including your policies, the authority and approval providers you connect, where receipts are stored, and the actions your agents can take. Review changes made by AI agents, including changes made using the plugin's skills and commands, before relying on them. Do not use the software as the only safeguard for situations where failure could cause death, injury or serious harm.
4. No warranty
As stated in the Apache License, the software is provided "AS IS", without warranties or conditions of any kind, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
5. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, and as stated in the Apache License, we are not liable for any indirect, special, incidental or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits or business, arising from your use of the software. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
6. Contributions
Contributions are accepted under the Apache License 2.0 (see CONTRIBUTING.md).
7. Trademarks
"SensCheck", "MMRY", "SensAffect", "Akita" and related names and logos are marks of their owners. The Apache License does not grant trademark rights, except for reasonable descriptive use of the name to identify the origin of the software.
8. Third-party services
Your AI agent, model provider, package registry, GitHub and any optional commercial provider are governed by their own terms.
9. Changes
We may update these Terms; changes are visible in the repository history. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms for the version you use.
